Entraygues-sur-Truyère Between the waters

Nestled between the waters, Entraygues follows the course of the Lot Valley and opens the door to the Truyère Gorges. In its historic heart, the buildings in soft shades of gray announce the granite constructions of the Aubrac Plateau and nearby Cantal.

And in the middle Two rivers flow

Whether you’re here for a holiday or just to explore, let yourself be seduced by the timeless charm of this medieval town. With its two bridges spanning two rivers, the Lot and the Truyère, Entraygues – pronounced ” Entraye ” as it is here – takes its name from the Occitan entraigas, illustrating its location between the waters. Take a stroll through its passageways or alleyways, lose yourself in its maze of narrow streets, and take note of its doors and half-timbered facades, some of which still house a craftsman’s workshop.

What can you see in Entraygues-sur-Truyère? The must-haves

The Gothic Bridge On the Truyère

This 13th-century Gothic structure has been completely restored to its medieval splendor. The peddlers who used to sell their wares here have given way to visitors who admire the splendid view over the village. Paddles and fishing boats now replace the gabares that once sailed between its arches (please check) and were used for trade. Whether you use this pedestrian bridge by bike or on foot, you’ll find your way to the V86, the Lot Valley cycle route or our countless hiking trails.

Top spot The Calvaire panorama

Located on the heights of Entraygues, this panorama marked by a large cross offers an extraordinary view of the village. From here, you can overlook the entire confluence and admire the village nestled between its arms. The castle, the narrow streets, the two bridges, the Lot, the Truyère – it’s all there, and absolutely unmissable!

To get there by car!
Heading towards Aurillac, theBarrage de Cambeyrac allows you to cross the Truyère by car. Once across, follow the same direction, stopping at the Belvedere after a hairpin bend a few kilometers further on. Several metres behind you, along the road on the edge of the forest, a small path leads to the Panorama du Calvaire.
