Entraygues-sur-Truyère Between the waters

With its two bridges spanning two rivers, the Lot and the Truyère, Entraygues – pronounced ” Entraye ” as it is here – takes its name from the Occitan entraigas, illustrating its location between the waters. Take a stroll through its passageways or alleyways, lose yourself in its maze of narrow streets, and take note of its doors and half-timbered facades, some of which still house a craftsman’s workshop.

This 13th-century Gothic structure has been completely restored to its medieval splendor. The peddlers who used to sell their wares here have given way to visitors who admire the splendid view over the village. Paddles and fishing boats now replace the gabares that once sailed between its arches (please check) and were used for trade.
