Miraculous fishing In our rivers and lakes

Between the valleys and gorges that shape our territory, water is omnipresent in Terres d’Aveyron! On the banks of the Lot, Truyère or Dourdou rivers, from streams to the boraldes descending from the foothills of the Aubrac to the expanses of dams and lakes, you’re bound to find your ideal fishing spot!

Our best spots To tease the fish

Go fishing for miracles in our best spots! Renowned for their quality and classified as a Natura 2000 zone in parts, the waters of the Lot are renowned for their abundance of fish. Classified in the2nd category, the river offers you its peaceful banks in Saint-Côme-d’Olt, Espalion and Estaing, with the added bonus of a glimpse of their heritage. From bleak to cheven, you’ll come across a number of white fish that otters and herons may be fighting over.

In Entraygues-sur-Truyère, you’d be surprised if the Lot and Truyère left you empty-handed between gudgeons, minnows, barbel and loaches. Trout releases are frequent on all these routes.

Try your hand at spearfishing on our Nayrac and Campuaclakes. At the Golinhac reservoir, you may have to take a boat to catch a predator.

For intimate fishing in an unspoilt setting, choose the Boralde de Flaujac or the Dourdou de Bozouls at Villecomtal, where you’ll even find crayfish!

Fishing in our lakes Near dams

The construction of hydroelectric dams on the Lot and Truyère rivers has transformed the landscape, creating vast reservoirs ideal for water sports. Pike-perch, perch, pike and catfish are just some of the surprises on offer! Here, you can fish from a boat or on the banks of the Golinhac dam or Lac de Couesques. In nearby Aubrac, visit the Lacs de Saint Gervais and de la Selve.

A specially-designed itinerary For all types of fishing

Every year, the Aveyron Fishing Federation improves its courses and revises their layout to ensure safe fishing for all. It has recently :

  • created a no-kill pike course on the entire Golinhac dam right-of-way
  • set up fishing pontoons on the banks of the Lot at Estaing and on the Plan d’eau du Nayrac.

Fédé12 is also committed to protecting and preserving the aquatic environment by raising anglers’ awareness of responsible fishing. It offers introductory courses for children, to impress on future generations the need to respect these spaces.
