Getaway in our vineyards Estaing & Entraygues-Le Fel wines

Embodying the vineyards of Nord-Aveyron, our wines flourish in the Lot Valley, on two distinct terroirs bearing the Estaing and Entraygues-Le Fel appellations. Here, the vines are pampered in small secret gardens with well-exposed terraces, where the grapes are harvested exclusively by hand. Discover the secrets of one of France’s smallest vineyards.

2 Protected Designations of Origin & their specificities

For centuries, our wines have reflected the hospitality and sincerity of our land. Like the coustoubis – the people of the hillsides – who tirelessly walk them, our wines promise authenticity and character!

Our PDO wines d'Entraygues - Le Fel

On steep slopes overlooking the Lot Valley, 5 winegrowers share 20 hectares of terraced vineyards between Le Fel, with its schist soils, and Entraygues-sur-Truyère, with its granite soils. Visit them directly at their estates.

Their great specialty is Chenin, here named Gamay d’Entraygues, whose perfectly controlled acidity produces fruity, fresh white wines. Red and rosé wines are a pleasant blend of mansois and cabernet franc. A Vin Délimité de Qualité Supérieure (VDQS) since 1965, theAOC was brilliantly obtained in 2011.

Our PDO wines d'Estaing

The Estaing vineyards cling to the schist and clay-limestone slopes of the Lot Valley, between the villages ofEstaing, Sébrazac and Coubisou. Almost all the winegrowers are grouped together under the name Vignerons d’Olt, and blend their production at the Maison de la Vigne, des vins et des paysages d’Estaing cooperative winery.

Over the centuries, man has tamed the landscape by cultivating wine by handon terraces. Made from local grape varieties such as Gamay and Fer Servadou, the red, rosé and white wines are available in AOC Vins d’Estaing and IGP Vins de Pays de l’Aveyron. Les Vignerons d’Olt even offer a white or rosé sparkling wine, Festaing, for a festive touch!

Ancestral vineyards Did you know?

In the Middle Ages, the monks of Aubrac acquired land in the Lot Valley and took advantage of its mild climate to plant vines. Their estates were prosperous, as evidenced by the buildings of the Couvent de Malet, which no longer produces wine but now welcomes pilgrims.

Later, the coustoubis made a living from market gardening, finding in vine-growing a means of subsistence and a bargaining chip in Aubrac cheese. They also benefited from the river trade on the Lot, which was navigable at the time, and barges carried barrels of wine down to the southwest. Entraygues-sur-Truyère was the last stop on this route, which is why ancestral grape varieties originating from this region can be found here.

At (our) tables!

Like the local cuisine they ideally accompany, our wines are humble and promise simple, convivial moments. In our gourmet restaurants, traditional inns or small, more intimate eateries, you’re bound to find a good place to match food and wine and have a great time!
